Sacred Heart Cathedral in Guangzhou, China

Sacred Heart Cathedral, also known as Shishi Sacred Heart Cathedral, is located in the heart of Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, on Yide Road. The cathedral's name originates from the foundation ceremony held on June 18, 1863, which coincided with the Feast of the Sacred Heart. It took 25 years to complete and is one of the most distinctive Catholic cathedrals in the Guangzhou Diocese. Designed by French architects and constructed by Chinese craftsmen, the cathedral is a remarkable blend of Western and Eastern craftsmanship.
