Irkutsk Town

#summervacay Irkutsk totally surprised me, in the best way possible! It’s this chill Siberian town with a cool mix of old wooden houses and Russian architecture that somehow just works. Walking around the city felt like being in a Russian fairytale, especially near the historic 130 Kvartal area, super cute cafes, quirky shops, and a cozy vibe all around. The Angara River runs right through the city, and it's so calming to stroll along the embankment, especially during sunset. I also checked out the Taltsy Museum nearby, basically a village of wooden houses from centuries ago, and yes, it’s way more fun than it sounds. The local markets were buzzing with energy and snacks I couldn’t pronounce but definitely ate. And the people? Surprisingly warm for Siberia’s icy rep! Irkutsk isn’t super touristy, which makes it even more special. It’s got character, stories, and that laid-back “stay a little longer” feel. Would I go back? Absolutely.
