Gozo

Gozo is a medieval fortified city located at the geographical center of Gozo Island. It is the second largest island of the Maltese archipelago (second only to Malta itself), although it appears to have a lower population density than the two islands. The national dish of Malta is a stewed rabbit called fenkata, which is present at almost all events. In the medieval origins of this festival, this was the only time of the year when ordinary Maltese were allowed to eat rabbit, as rabbits were usually reserved for the knights who ruled the island at the time.
