[Germany] Munich Alte Pinakothek

#SummerCampaign Munich is home to many art museums, but the most famous is the Alte Pinakothek. The works housed there originated from the collection of the Wittelsbach family of Bavaria, who ruled Munich. The Alte Pinakothek was built to house the royal collection, which grew in the 19th century. Today, it displays a collection of pre-19th-century art, including many masterpieces. Right next to the building are the Neue Pinakothek, which exhibits modern paintings, and the Pinakothek der Moderne, which displays contemporary art and design.
