Osaka in a fluffy embrace 🍡✨ A city that makes us happily lost Osaka is not a capital city, not a city full of magnificent landmarks. But Osaka is one of the most “kind” cities in Japan. It is a city that may not have the word “wow!” on every corner, but has only the word “smile” in its heart. This trip, we did not go to Osaka because of the review, not following anyone. But because we just wanted to go... We wanted to get to know the city that many people talk about that “It’s cute.” And when we actually went, we knew that “Osaka” is not just cute. …but very cute. 🍥 ⸻ 1. The first step to the smell of dried fish and laughter - Kuromon Ichiba Market 🐙 Start the trip without thinking too much. When we arrived in Osaka, we dragged our bags and headed straight to Kuromon Ichiba Market. A 100-year-old old market that is famous for fresh, delicious food and a lot! As soon as we walked in, we smelled the aroma of grilled crab and butter scallops from the street stalls. There were vendors laughing and having fun. The vendors shouted to call customers in Japanese without any concern for their accent. We started with giant crab legs 🦀 sweet and crispy. Next was hot takoyaki with squid in full bites. We ate fresh scallop sushi until we wanted to cry. And ended with rich green tea ice cream that melted in our mouths so softly. 🍦 Holding the stick in one hand, taking pictures in the other. Sometimes we couldn't help but smile at strangers. The atmosphere was warm like walking in a small temple fair where everyone was happy. 💕 ⸻ 2. Osaka Castle - Peaceful beauty in the heart of the city 🏯🍃 From the market, we took the subway to Osaka Castle. The first feeling was "so beautiful..." I said it in my mind softly but my voice was very clear. The castle stands tall in a wide garden with rows of trees. The day we went, the weather was nice, the wind was cool, and the sun was warm. We sat on a bench under the tree, watching children running around, old people holding hands, and tourists taking pictures with big smiles. We went up to the top of the castle. The view was great. We could see the whole city. It was like seeing Osaka through the eyes of a small bird. It's a quiet spot...but makes my heart a little louder 🎐 ⸻ 3. Cute cafe hidden in an alley - A world of cute people 🧁☕ The next day, we chose to walk aimlessly around Americamura It's a Japanese teenage fashion district that hides many cute cafes. After walking until we were tired, we found a small cafe with a bicycle leaning against the door in front of the shop. The interior of the shop is decorated with dried flowers, postcards, and ceramic teacups with cat patterns. We ordered a 3D bear latte that was so cute we didn't dare to eat it 🐻☕ With a soft and fluffy strawberry cake that melted in our hearts. We sat and ate, wrote in our diary, and listened to soft jazz music floating by. We told ourselves, "Just this is enough to make me happy." 💗 ⸻ 4. Walk along the canal at Dotonbori - It's not just about taking pictures with the Glico sign 🌃 In the evening, we walked around Dotonbori, an area that never sleeps at night. The lights of the billboards reflect off the water, sparkling like we're in a candy city. Many people but not chaotic. Everyone smiled, took pictures, and made running poses with the Glico sign. We didn't miss it either! Standing and posing wildly, laughing with friends. Then we stopped to eat ramen with separate seats like a personal safe box. 🍜 There was a boat along the canal that took us along with soft music. We sat on the steps by the canal, gnawed on dried squid, sipped hot tea from a vending machine. We watched people walk by and felt grateful for coming to Osaka today. 💫 ⸻ 5. Kaiyukan Aquarium – Gentleness under the water 🐠 Osaka has Kaiyukan, a large aquarium. The outside looks ordinary, but inside is another world full of wonderful creatures. There are large whale sharks swimming gracefully. Penguins swaying gently, sea otters seriously smashing shells with rocks. Luminous fish that seem to be floating in space. We walked slowly, looked through the thick glass, and felt that “Humans are just tiny.” But it’s so lucky to see such a beautiful underwater world. 🫧 ⸻ 6. Happily lost – No plan, but with memories On the last day, we had no plans at all. Just chose a train station and got off as we pleased. Walked into a second-hand store that played 80s music. Bought a small Japanese book that I couldn’t read, but the illustrations were cute. Found a sign on the side of the road that said “Nice to meet you today.” It was a day when no one knew us. But I felt that this city…understood us the most. 💛 ⸻ 💌 Conclusion in my heart: Osaka didn’t tell us to love, but we loved her instead. We weren’t in a hurry on this trip and didn’t check in to every spot. But what I got back was a “good feeling” that couldn’t be put in a suitcase. Osaka taught us that Traveling doesn’t always have to be exciting. Sometimes, “walking slowly, eating something delicious, and letting yourself get lost” is the best relaxation in the world. And even though we’re back, I still have Osaka in my heart.
