Swimming and Picnicking at Sognsvann Lake in Norway

🇳🇴 Oslo, Norway ♥️ Sognsvann Lake When it comes to summer trips in Europe, swimming in a lake is a must. A few days ago, I went on a 2-night, 3-day trip to Oslo, Norway. Among the highlights of my Oslo trip was Sognsvann Lake, which I’d like to introduce. Sognsvann Lake is just a 30-minute subway ride from downtown Oslo. The lake is surrounded by trees, forests, and trails for trekking, making it a perfect natural retreat. Locals often come here in the afternoons to enjoy picnics and swimming. My friends and I stopped by a downtown grocery store to pick up some food for our picnic. We laid out a mat under the shade of a tree and started our picnic. According to the locals, Oslo’s July weather isn’t usually this hot, but this year was unusually warm, making it the perfect day for a swim at Sognsvann Lake! There’s a public restroom by the lake where you can change into your swimsuit. I jumped straight into the lake and started swimming. The water was cool and clean, and it felt amazing! There’s also a spot in the middle of the lake where you can jump and play, so I swam over there and had a lot of fun. By the afternoon, the lake was packed with locals coming after work, and it was hard to find a spot. I recommend visiting in the morning! If you’re traveling to Norway in July or August, make sure to cool off with a swim at Sognsvann Lake 🇳🇴🏊♂️💙
