It is an abandoned temple that Somdej Phra Naresuan the Great renovated for Mae Plueum, an ordinary villager who lived by the river on the outskirts of Phra Nakhon. She lived alone and had no children or grandchildren. One day, Somdej Phra Naresuan the Great rowed a boat alone in the rain. When he arrived, he saw that the hut still had chopsticks and it was still dark. So he stopped by the hut. When Mae Plueum saw a strong man with wet clothes, she invited him and welcomed him with kindness. However, his voice was loud, as was the personality of a brave warrior. Mae Plueum warned him, "My child, don't be so loud. It's already late. The king will hear and be angry." He spoke loudly, "I want to drink moon water. I'm wet from the rain. I'm cold. I want moon water to keep my body warm." This made Mae Plueum even more shocked because today was a Buddhist holy day, so she said, "If you really want to drink, you must promise not to let this matter spread. Otherwise, the king will find out and it will be dangerous." King Naresuan the Great agreed. Mae Pleum then gave him some holy water to drink. King Naresuan the Great stayed overnight at Mae Pleum's house. In the morning, he returned to the palace. Later, a procession was organized to take Mae Pleum to be raised in the palace because Mae Pleum was a kind person who was loyal to the king. After Mae Pleum passed away, King Naresuan the Great held a proper funeral for her and came to renovate the abandoned temple to dedicate to Mae Pleum and named it "Wat Mae Nang Pleum". 🏖️Environment/Facilities: There is a parking lot.
