Yuyuan Garden is an ancient Chinese garden in Shanghai with a history of over 400 years. Built in 1559 by Ban Yuyunwan to provide a place for his father to rest in his old age, it features beautiful Ming and Qing dynasty architecture, complete with pavilions, trees, and rock formations. Today, the garden is part of a bustling commercial district, with the Yuyuan Market at the front, offering a variety of shops and restaurants. The entrance fee to the garden is 40 yuan during the day. At night, the Yuyuan Market is a spectacular illuminated area, a must-see. There's a wide selection of food options in front, but I was indifferent to the food. I tried several restaurants, but found it a bit bland. However, the illuminations are worth it.
