2-day itinerary in Shanghai

We started our day in Shanghai a bit late, right after landing. Day 1 The first stop on our itinerary was the LV store shaped like a cruise liner. Initially, we planned to visit it after the French Concession, but since we had a reservation, our plans changed. I wrote a separate post on how to get to the store. After visiting the store, we walked around the French Concession, which features beautiful buildings and gardens. There are restored houses, narrow streets where locals live, pedestrian streets, and flagship stores. Next, we took the metro to the very center of the city - People's Square. By then, it was dusk, and the city lights were turning on everywhere. Exiting the metro, we found ourselves on Nanjing Road. It was very vibrant and beautiful, though in some places it felt crowded. As we approached the Bund, the crowds grew even larger. Finally, we reached the Bund. We strolled along, took photos, admired the view, and then headed back to the hotel to rest. (LV store - French Concession - People's Square - Nanjing Road - The Bund) Day 2 Our second day began with a visit to Yu Garden. Entry is ticketed. The garden is surrounded by the Old City, with traditional Chinese houses that now host shops and cafes. After exploring the area, we headed to the Bund to see the panorama in daylight. Our next stop was the riverside near the International Cruise Terminal metro station, the famous waterfront with the mirrored egg sculpture. Since there were many metro transfers required to get to the other side of the river, we decided to take the tourist tunnel instead. I also wrote a separate post about it. By nightfall, we emerged from the tunnel right at the Oriental Pearl Tower. We explored the area among the skyscrapers and went up to the free observation deck in the Shanghai Tower.
