The Xiaoshetai Qin Great Wall was built in the 28th year of Emperor Yingzheng's reign (219 BC). Its ruins are located in Xiaoshetai Town, Wuqian Banner, Bayannur City. It is the best-preserved section of the 240-kilometer Great Wall, more than 2,000 meters long, and was opened to the public after renovation in 2005. The entire section of the Great Wall was built with local stones, which were artificially processed into strips of stone and stacked in layers. The cross section is trapezoidal, with lookouts and beacon towers built at intervals. There are ancient rock paintings 600 to 800 meters north of the Xiaoshetai Qin Great Wall.
