I booked my tickets the night before departure. The Dongliu Line was very convenient; all I needed to do was upload my voucher. The cabin was comfortable, though the air conditioning was a bit chilly, so I recommend bringing a light jacket. The safety instructions inside the cabin are now available in Chinese, English, Hakka, and other languages, which is very international. It happened to be a long holiday, but they quickly added more boats, so the departure time was close to my original booking.

Easy to use, highly recommended! When you arrive at the pier, find the counter, show your purchased ferry ticket and identification document, and the staff will process it and issue you a physical round-trip ticket.

Keep in mind that it will take more than 2 hours. Departed from Zuoying and got off at 恒春 bus station, it took little more than 2.5 hours even though it was not the last stop. There is USB socket in the bus that was a huge plus. No need to say but there’s no bathroom break on the way. So plan ahead haha
