Reviews: Te Puia: Te Pō Indigenous Combo - Tour, Dinner + Haka

Fantastic! Tour started in an assembly room with a video playing. Approximately 80-90 or so people. We were split into (again approximate) groups of 15-18 people and put with a tour guide of Maori descent. They took us through the Maori land that surrounds the complex and spoke of the history, the land, the geysers, growing up in the area and about the language. All very interesting. We got to see their Kiwi (we saw 2!). They walked us through their schools which were also very impressive and fascinating. Everyone we encountered was incredible and kind. We went through the gifts shop before dinner. I do wish there was more from the actual students there to buy but there seems to be something at every price point and is there to support what they do, 100% a good cause. The dinner didn't feel super "native" but it was excellent and there was plenty to eat, and plenty to try. The Haka presentation after was touching and meaningful. Then we walked to the geyser to end the night!
