In addition to the Dongfengyun Scenic Area and the Huquan Ecological Park, there is also the free Ranweng Park in Mile.
Ranweng's surname was Sun. He originally lived in Kunming and was famous for writing a 180-character long couplet for Kunming Daguan Tower. "The five hundred miles of Dianchi Lake rushes into my eyes" and "Thousands of years of past events are engraved in my heart"... The upper couplet in the Daguan Tower describes the Dianchi Lake and the surrounding scenery, praising the beautiful mountains and rivers; the lower couplet associates with the history of Yunnan, and is inspired by feelings. The overall parallelism is neat, and the objects and emotions are expressed with profound connotations.
In order to fulfill his half-son responsibility, Ranweng's son-in-law took him to Mile to take care of him. Later, Ranweng was hired to give lectures and died in Mile. Before his death, he wrote a couplet for himself: "I'm busy this time, and I'm confused after all for fame and fortune; this time I'm just right, and I've never owed anyone for my poetry and wine debts?" It shows his open-minded and self-restrained life, and his integrity without fame and fortune.
Maitreya Bearded Weng Park is not only a place to commemorate this famous scholar, but also a good place for citizens to relax and have fun.
