Dawang Peak, with an altitude of nearly 530 meters, is the first peak encountered when entering the Jiuxi River. Due to its unique shape, it is also known as Shamao Rock or Tianzhu Peak. The shape shown in Figure 2 can be photographed near the stream by Yunu Peak.
The route to the summit: The starting point for the front mountain is at Wuyi Palace, which is relatively easy to climb; the back mountain starts from Zhizhi Temple, where there are fewer people.
Xu Xiake and Dawang Peak: Xu Xiake entered the mountain from this point, hence the "Xu Xiake's Entry Point" archway and statue of Xu Xiake at the foot of the mountain, commemorating his "Three-Day Tour of Wuyi Mountain." However, climbing Dawang Peak was much more difficult for Xu Xiake back then; he recorded that he climbed many ladders to reach the top, making it a truly "wild climbing route"!
