Thean Hou Temple, also known as the Thean Hou Temple on Robson Heights, is situated on a hill in Robson Heights, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was built with funds raised by the Selangor and Federal Territory Hainan Association and is primarily dedicated to the sea goddess Mazu, making it one of the iconic Chinese temples in Kuala Lumpur. The architecture of Thean Hou Temple blends Lingnan and Northern Chinese styles, and the temple is built in tiers along the hillside. The dragon and phoenix sculptures on the main hall's roof, golden glazed tiles, dougong brackets, painted beams, and the massive dragon-carved pillars in front of the hall all reflect the meticulousness of traditional craftsmanship. Inside the hall, Mazu is enshrined in the center, with Guanyin and Shui Wei Sheng Niang, a deity revered by the Hainanese people, enshrined on either side, making this a religious site where Buddhism and Taoism coexist.Kuala Lumpur · 10.7 km from Seri Kembangan

258 reviews
Kuala Lumpur City Centre Park is located at the foot of the Petronas Twin Towers in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. It covers an area of approx. 20 hectares and was built and opened at the same time as the Petronas Twin Towers. Its predecessor was the old Selangor Turf Club racecourse. This park was designed by the renowned Brazilian landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx and is considered his final work. The park's artificial lake, elevated bridge, thousands of native trees, and dozens of palm species are interwoven, with vast greenery spreading out among the skyscrapers, making it a rare oasis for relaxation in the city center. The artificial lake in the center of the park is called Lake Symphony. The musical fountain on the lake regularly hosts water dance performances, with the main fountain's water jets reaching tens of meters into the air. It looks especially beautiful at night when accompanied by light shows, and the lakeside is often crowded with visitors. The elevated bridge spanning the lake is a popular spot for taking upward-angle photos of the Petronas Twin Towers and the Kuala Lumpur skyline, and many classic photos have been taken here. The path around the lake connects water features such as waterfalls and cascades, and a jogging track paved with shock-absorbing material extends around the park. On the west side, there is a children's play area and a family-friendly wading pool, making it very suitable for family outings, jogging, and strolling.Kuala Lumpur · 14.2 km from Seri Kembangan

Prime Minister's Office is situated on a hill in Putrajaya, the administrative capital of Malaysia, and is the government building where the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia work, known locally as "Perdana Putra". The building was completed and opened in 1999. It blends various architectural styles, including Malay, Islamic, and Palladian, with columns that carry a hint of Mughal flair, and Eastern and exotic elements coexist on the same facade, which is quite fascinating upon closer inspection. The building commands a view from above, facing the expansive Putrajaya Square, with Putrajaya Lake just beyond it. Looking back from the center of the square, the dome and colonnade can be captured in a single frame, making it a classic photo spot.Putrajaya · 10.1 km from Seri Kembangan

The park is planted with dozens of species including palms, bamboo, orchids, hibiscus, and ferns, many of which bloom year-round. Strolling along the lakeside paths, you can often observe squirrels, various birds, and butterflies. The park contains several themed gardens, including the Orchid Garden, which brings together hundreds of orchid species; the Hibiscus Garden, which grows over 500 varieties; the Deer Park, which is home to various deer; and the Herb Garden. Sultan Abdul Samad Jamek Mosque is situated at the confluence of the Klang and Gombak rivers, which is considered the birthplace of Kuala Lumpur—it was here that tin miners traveled upriver and landed, giving rise to the city's name, muddy confluence. Completed in 1909, it is one of the oldest mosques in Kuala Lumpur and was designed by British architect Hubback, who previously worked for the Public Works Department in India. The entire complex features alternating layers of red brick and white plaster, a pattern vividly described as "blood and bandages," which echoes the red and white walls of the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba in Spain. Behind the mosque, at the confluence of the two rivers, there is a waterfront viewing platform where the red and white structure and its reflection in the water can be captured together, making it a classic photo spot in the old city.Kuala Lumpur · 13.5 km from Seri Kembangan

Kwai Chai Hong

5.6
4.3/5
27 reviews
Kwai Chai Hong is a century-old back alley in Kuala Lumpur's China Town, hidden behind a row of old shophouses on Theatre Lane. The name has nothing to do with ghosts. According to long-time residents, elders used to call the children who ran around and played in the alley "Kwai Chai" (little rascals), and the name eventually became the alley's name. This alley was once a settlement for Cantonese laborers. It fell into disrepair for a time but was renovated and reopened in recent years. The old buildings in the alley blend British colonial style with local elements, and several connected two-story shophouses still retain the appearance of traditional southern Chinese shophouses. During the renovation, local artists were commissioned to paint several interactive murals that recreate the daily life of China Town in the 1960s: couples flirting on a bridge, an old man playing the erhu while missing his hometown, a letter writer drafting letters for others, a landlady collecting rent, and more. You can scan the QR code next to each mural with your phone to hear the story behind it. The alley also features a century-old street lamp that has remained since the early days of electrification, and a wall installation made of old wooden windows is also a popular photo spot.Kuala Lumpur · 12.7 km from Seri Kembangan

Thean Hou Temple is one of the most beautiful and iconic temples in Kuala Lumpur. The first thing that impressed me was the stunning architecture, with its colourful decorations, grand pillars, and traditional Chinese design mixed with modern touches. The temple offers a peaceful atmosphere away from the busy city, and the hilltop location gives a nice view of the KL skyline. It’s a great place to take photos, especially during sunset or when the lights are turned on at night.Beyond just being a tourist attraction, the temple still feels like an active place of worship, with visitors coming to pray and experience the cultural atmosphere. The surroundings are clean and well maintained, making it a comfortable place to explore.A beautiful spot for families, couples, and anyone interested in culture, architecture, or photography. Definitely one of the must-visit places in KL, even if you only spend 30–60 minutes here.

Highly recommend the Durian Baby Academy! A must-do in your Kuala Lumpur trip. The guide provides detailed explanations, patiently answering all your durian-related questions. The educational content is lively and engaging, captivating both adults and children. The orchard experience is fantastic; peak season is from June to August and October to January, when you can see durians hanging from the trees. The durian platter is absolutely worth trying! Learn about durian cultivation while enjoying fresh durian—immerse yourself in the charm of the king of fruits. Don't miss it when you travel to Malaysia!

We went to Observation Deck with air-conditioned deck offering a full 360-degree view of the city. It's comfortable, but photos can suffer from window reflections and UV-film tint. The open-air, upper platform. Because there is no glass blocking your camera, you get crystal-clear photos, fresh air, and an incredible open atmosphere. Sky Box included with the Sky Deck ticket, these are two glass-floored cubes that jut out over the edge of the tower. Standing 300 meters above the street with transparent glass beneath your feet is easily the most exhilarating photo spot in KL. If you travel to kl you must visit to view a great kl.

At Kwai Chai Hong, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time. The beautifully restored murals bring the everyday life of the 1960s Chinese and Malay communities to life, and each artwork has its own story and deeper meaning. It’s a charming and nostalgic spot, perfect for photography—especially with people in the frame, as it makes the scenes feel even more real. The atmosphere is calm and slightly magical, and if you’re lucky, nearby cafés playing old Chinese music add to the experience. You don’t need to spend too much time here—around 15–20 minutes is enough—but it’s definitely worth a visit to feel that unique spirit and capture some memorable photos.
