Review of Michelin Restaurant Vækst in Copenhagen, Denmark!

When I visited Paris, I decided to try authentic French cuisine at a modern French restaurant, and it left a lasting impression on me. So, during this trip, I wanted to have a similar experience and booked a Danish restaurant. :) I chose this restaurant by checking the ratings of several places that popped up on Google Maps when searching for Copenhagen. Vækst had a 4.6 rating, which seemed promising, so I decided to give it a try. Turns out, it was a lucky choice! 🤗 Located on a quiet street, the restaurant has a modern black exterior, with the MICHELIN 2024 plaque prominently displayed on the wall. The entrance is tucked inside, and stepping into the interior was a pleasant surprise—the structure of a house depicted on the signboard is actually installed inside the restaurant! 1. First came the finger food to whet the appetite! It was like a creamy snack—quite enjoyable. 2. Bread before the meal: The bread was plain, but the herb-mixed butter was salty and addictive, making me want to keep eating it. 3. Appetizers!! The menu offers two types of courses: Basic Course and Green Course. - Basic (left): Scallops with herb sauce. - Green (right): Cooked potatoes and potato chips with sour sauce. The scallops were absolutely delicious! The sauce was quite unique, though the potato chips in the Green menu were a bit too salty—but still manageable. 4. A dish not included in the course but served as a complimentary item: It looked healthy but had seasoned crepes with a cheese-based sauce, topped with Western radish and young sprouts. You eat it like a taco, and surprisingly, it was totally my style! The combination was excellent—loved it! 5. Main dishes arrived 😆!! - Basic menu: Cod dish. - Green menu: Carrot dish. To be honest, the cod was just like regular fried fish—similar to the fish in British fish and chips. The sauce helped a bit, but overall, it wasn’t extraordinary. The carrot dish tasted just like carrots—nothing special. I’d recommend switching the main dish to a meat option for a more satisfying meal! 😇 6. Dessert!! Michelin restaurants often showcase creative desserts, and here, the dessert was raspberry sorbet. It was tangy and sweet, making for a great finish to the meal. Overall, it was a decent dining experience, and now I’m curious about other Michelin restaurants. Denmark, in particular, has amazing bread, and I’m even considering finding my ultimate favorite bakery here. I’ll post about my favorite bread soon! 💗
