A Culinary Delight at Restaurant Selma in Copenhagen 🇩🇰

During my recent trip to Copenhagen, I had the pleasure of dining at Restaurant Selma, a hidden gem that beautifully encapsulates the essence of Danish cuisine, particularly through its focus on smørrebrød. Nestled at Rømersgade 20, Selma offers a cozy yet modern atmosphere that makes it perfect for both casual lunches and intimate dinners. As I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance, with a design that blends contemporary elements with a touch of traditional charm. The staff were friendly and attentive, eager to guide me through the menu and recommend their specialties. Selma’s menu is a thoughtful tribute to the classic Danish open-faced sandwich, smørrebrød. Each dish is crafted with seasonal produce sourced from trusted local suppliers, ensuring that the flavors are fresh and vibrant. I opted for a selection of smørrebrød, and each piece was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The balance of flavors and textures was remarkable, showcasing the culinary creativity of the chefs. In addition to the food, Selma boasts a fantastic beverage selection. They offer a rotating selection of local beers on tap, as well as wines from small producers, providing excellent pairings for the dishes. I enjoyed a refreshing beer that complemented my meal perfectly. Selma is open for lunch from Wednesday to Monday and dinner from Wednesday to Saturday, making it a convenient spot for visitors and locals alike. Reservations are recommended, especially for dinner, as this charming restaurant has quickly gained popularity. Overall, my experience at Restaurant Selma was truly memorable. The combination of exquisite food, a welcoming atmosphere, and attentive service makes it a must-visit destination in Copenhagen for anyone looking to indulge in authentic Danish flavors. If you find yourself in the city, be sure to stop by and savor the culinary delights that Selma has to offer! #copenhagen #denmark #thingstodo #travel

Copenhagen

Copenhagen is probably one of the few big cities where I would live. When I spent a weekend last February I had the chance to enjoy its friendly people, its great food and the fact you can cross the city by foot or bike in just less than an hour (also don’t forget that public transportation works great and smoothly). After my arrival, I ran to the picturesque canal of Nyhavn, one of Copenhagen’s most iconic spots. It’s truly a lovely place full of colored houses with plenty of cafes and restaurants where you can have breakfast or dine. Then I rented an electric scooter to visit the neighborhoods of Østerbro and Nørrebro: the latter is known for the amazingly cool Superkilen, a public park designed to bring refugees and locals together, promoting tolerance. Not far from there, a must see: the Grundtvigs Kirke, an incredible example of impressionist architecture. Other notable spots are the super cool Rundetaarn tower (very cheap to visit), Magstræde, Rosenborg and Amalienborg palaces, Tivoli Gardens and the Botanic Garden. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough time to explore the whole city, but I’m already planning a longer, second trip! #denmark #copenhagen #europe #travel #weekend #awesomepic
