Copenhagen Solo Travel: The Best Hostels to Stay

I spent a week in Copenhagen on a solo trip and stayed at two amazing hostels. Since I was traveling on a budget and Copenhagen is known for its high cost of living, I never expected to find hostels of such quality for just around 200 HKD per night. Interestingly, I discovered that Next House and Steel House are owned by the same company. Between the two, I would rank Next House as my top choice because of its better breakfast and much larger communal spaces. Room: I stayed in a six-bed female dorm, which is similar in size to Steel House. The room comes with lockers, shower gel, shampoo, and a private bathroom. The room is cleaned daily, and fresh towels are provided. It’s clean and tidy, and the best part is that it has air conditioning—a rare feature in European hostels. Communal Spaces: The communal spaces are massive. The entire ground floor is a game room, and the space is large enough to accommodate 200 to 400 people. The kitchen is located on the rooftop and requires an additional fee to access. It’s fully equipped with utensils and condiments, and the area is spotless. There’s even a private rooftop garden where you can dine and chat, offering a fantastic environment. Breakfast: The breakfast options are limited, but there’s a toaster for making cheese toast, along with juice and coffee readily available. Location: Next House is conveniently located near Copenhagen’s central bus and train station, just a 10-minute walk away. Impressions: Like Steel House, Next House offers plenty of free activities and affordable lunch and dinner options for solo travelers. There’s also a happy hour with free beer, making it a great choice for budget-conscious travelers.
