Siberia's Lake Baikal

In winter, when the lake's surface freezes, travelers can drive across this stunning blue world. The water of Lake Baikal is incredibly clear, allowing visibility up to 40 meters below the surface. During winter, strong winds push floating ice on the lake, creating layers that pile up into small ice crystal mountains. The lake is typically frozen from January to March each year, with ice thickness exceeding 1 meter at its peak. During this time, the ice surface features cracks and air bubbles, which sparkle like crystal glass under the sunlight.
