The friendliest free museum on the Bund～The marks of history bloom here

Built in 1924, the Shanghai Post Office Building features a magnificent granite exterior, a colorful glass dome, and a clock tower. Its precious postal collection displays items from Qin Dynasty clay seals to modern postage, including the world’s first postage stamp, the "Penny Black," and China’s first set of stamps, the "Large Dragon Stamps," among other treasures. The rooftop garden, the best viewing platform, offers a magnificent view of the Suzhou Creek and the Lujiazui skyline, making it an excellent spot for photographing the Bund and Pudong scenery. The museum is free and open to the public, and currently no reservation is required for visits. This is very friendly compared to many places around the Bund, where advance booking is often necessary and tickets are hard to get. The Shanghai Postal Museum is not only a window into the century-long history of Chinese postal services but also a place where you can appreciate the beauty of architectural art and the charm of the city at the same time.
