Things to do in Changbai County

Changbai Mountain, true to its name, is incredibly clean! The restrooms in all areas were spotless, with sensor-activated flushes and hot water for handwashing – a truly touching experience for an autumn/winter trip. The restrooms had different themes, such as sables and black bears, adding a touch of vibrancy. We arrived a little late; most of the leaves had fallen, and it was the dry season, so the waterfalls weren't at their most beautiful. The small Tianchi Lake wasn't worth visiting yet; it's small, the water quality is so-so, and the surrounding forests are bare. Overall, the autumn air was crisp and clear. The 50-kilometer stretch from the distribution center to the transfer center was beautiful, vibrant with color, and Tianchi Lake was stunning. I especially loved the forest at the bottom of the valley; the pine scent was wonderful! I highly recommend walking to the end; there are vast, fairytale-like forests there, and we were lucky enough to encounter foxes and quite a few chipmunks along the way!

Except for the inconvenient transportation, everything else is good. First, the angle of Tianchi is good, and it is the most complete slope, and you can see all four slopes. Second, the ecological protection is good. Since it was opened the latest, the vegetation is original. Third, the distance is short after getting off the bus, so there is less walking. Fourth, there are attractions such as the double waterfalls and the Yalu River Grand Canyon.

You can see the North Korean industrial zone opposite. The glass plank road and other facilities in the scenic area are charged and are not cheap. There are few tourists in the scenic area and it has a strong commercial atmosphere. Although it is a 4A scenic area, the experience is average.

Changbai Korean Folk Village was developed on the basis of a natural village. The government renovated the original small village, which is very beautiful. The farmyard is now used as a homestay. In front of the small village, a Korean cultural exhibition hall and some antique buildings were built. It is very beautiful and you can go and see it.

Wangtian'e Scenic Area is located in Shiwudaogou, Changbai County, Baishan City, Jilin Province. It is a world-famous volcanic landform site. The horizontally developed columnar joints are like ladders to heaven, the radial joints are like peacocks spreading their tails or Thousand-handed Guanyin, and the vertically developed columnar joints are like pillars supporting the sky. They are closely arranged and look like a stone forest from a distance. The scenery here is magical, with rugged rocks, clear water, green trees, and ice as clear as jade. The five wonders of the scenic area are the strange stones, strange water, strange trees, strange ice, and strange snow. The main landscapes include the welcoming waterfall, the mother and child waterfall, the fairy bathing pool, the heavenly book exhibition, the Thousand-handed Guanyin, the stone brings luck, and the lion camel guardian.

The Broken Yalu River Bridge is located on the bank of the Yalu River on Jiang'an Road, Zhenxing District, Dandong City, Liaoning Province, China. It is the remnant of the original Yalu River Bridge after it was bombed. In November 1950, it was bombed by the US Air Force and became a witness to the vicissitudes of the history of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.

Lingguang Pagoda, located on the top of Tashan Mountain in the northwest suburb of Changbai Town, Changbai Korean Autonomous County, Jilin Province, is 820 meters above sea level and has a history of more than 1,000 years. Lingguang Pagoda is the only ancient architectural relic of the local government of Bohai State in the Tang Dynasty in Jilin Province. It is a key cultural relic protection unit. The original name of Lingguang Pagoda has long been lost. It is said that a long time ago, when the earth's crust changed, everything overturned, only this tower stood tall, coupled with its peculiar shape, refreshing spirit, and striking people's eyebrows. Therefore, in 1908, Zhang Fengtai, the first prefect of Changbai Prefecture in the Qing Dynasty, likened it to the Lingguang Hall in Shandong during the Western Han Dynasty and named it Lingguang Pagoda. Lingguang Pagoda is built with blue-gray square bricks and is a pavilion-style hollow square tower. It consists of five parts: passage, corridor, underground palace, tower body and pagoda. Although the bricks have fallen off sporadically and the tower is slightly tilted after thousands of years of erosion by wind, frost, rain and snow, it is still as solid as a rock and towers high above the clouds. Even the fallen fragments are very hard and make a clear and pleasant sound when knocked. The passage is stepped, with a total of 11 steps.
