Things to do in Menghai

The package ticket offers excellent value for money. The park is beautifully landscaped. The boundary marker is impressive. If you get tired, you can relax with a pot of lotus-themed tea; the delicate fragrance of the lotus flowers is soothing to the eye and calming to the soul. It nourishes both body and spirit.

I originally thought it would be a small attraction like the One Tree Forest in Ruili, but it turned out to be a scenic area. I didn't take the shuttle bus and chose to walk. When I got to the One Tree Forest, I was at the exit, which turned out to be right next to the entrance. The whole trip took 1.5 hours.

The hotel is located on a tea plantation. We went hiking there the day we visited. There were quite a few mosquitoes outside, but the guide brought mosquito repellent, so we didn't get bitten. The rooftop terrace has great views, and the swimming pool is also nice.

The China-Myanmar Border Park, also known as Xishuangbanna Daluo Forest Park, is located in Manjing Mountain at Daluo Port, bordering the Shan State Special Region 4 in Myanmar. The park is surrounded by mountains and rivers, with dense primeval forests and beautiful natural scenery. The main scenic spots include: tropical primeval forests, single-tree forests, forest zoos, rubber plantations, tropical orchards, Savage Valley, the Anti-Japanese Relics of the Chinese Expeditionary Force, and cross-border bamboo rafting on the boundary river. It is a very good place.

Jingzhen Octagonal Pavilion is located in Jingzhen Village, 14 kilometers outside Menghai County, Xishuangbanna. This pavilion was built during the reign of Emperor Kangxi. It was mainly used for Buddhists to hold religious ceremonies. When local leaders want to study and decide important matters, they also make them here. Next to it is a Puti tree with lush branches and leaves.

As a new tourist attraction, the First Village at the Extreme Border has rich and colorful tourism content. The attraction promotes patriotism and border awareness. There are 3 boundary markers for taking photos while walking along the border. The tour guide’s explanation is very rich, and there are intangible cultural heritage experience projects such as tie-dyeing and Dai paper. It is highly recommended for everyone to check in and play.

The folk custom theater performance was alright and educational. The bonfire party initially seemed unremarkable; I kept wondering when the bonfire would be lit and I almost left, but the climax came at the end, so overall it was still quite good.
