China Snow Town is also known as Shuangfeng (“Twin Peaks”) Forest Farm. The snow quality here is very good, with high cohesion. In the wintertime, you can see many snowbanks naturally formed into all kinds of styles, including the famous "snow mushroom". You can experience the excitement of wintertime by skiing, snow tubing, or having a snowball fight. Or head over to lively Xueyun Street to buy a frozen persimmon or the Xuexiang Dream Home to see a beautiful "snow mushroom". There is no end to the fun. Hengdaohezi Town

Hengdaohezi Townis a century-old town that flourished due to the Chinese Eastern Railway. When the railway was built, a large number of Russian engineers settled here, leaving behind many old Russian-style buildings in the town: the Orthodox Church of the Presentation of the Virgin, rows of Russian-style wooden houses, the Railway White Building, and the former site of the police station, all spread out along the old street. The fan-shaped locomotive depot is the town's landmark building. Built in 1903, its 15 arched doors are arranged radially around a turntable. It was originally designed to add auxiliary locomotives for trains crossing the Zhangguangcai Mountains and has now been converted into the Chinese Eastern Railway Museum. The town also features an oil painting village. Universities such as the Luxun Academy of Fine Arts use this place as a sketching training base, and it is common to see teachers and students with drawing boards painting by the old houses and railway tracks.Hailin · 34.7 km from downtown

The Wohu Mountain City Film and Television City is located in Hengdaohezi Town, Hailin, Mudanjiang. This town was once the place where Northeast heroes such as Yang Zirong lived and fought. Building the Wohu Mountain City here also has great historical significance. Although it is a modern film and television city, it is built according to the description of the well-known historical novel "Lin Hai Xue Yuan". It has an authentic time-travel temperament. I believe that you will definitely feel a strong sense of the times when you come to Wohu Mountain to play. In the film and television city, you can see many familiar scenes, such as the old Taoist temple with red painted gate pillars in "Lin Hai Xue Yuan", Jiapigou Village (the temporary training site of the bandit suppression team at that time) and the climax and danger of the Wohu Hall. The Wohu Hall is an important attraction in the city. It is the lobby where the gangs gather for fun in the novel, and it is also the big stage for Yang Zirong and Zuoshan Diao to compete with each other in wisdom and courage. In addition to the 100% identical scene restoration, you can also experience the authentic Northeastern customs when you come to Wohushan City. There are many traditional Northeastern villages built here, and there are also many Northeastern folk customs displays. I believe you will find it very interesting.Hailin · 29.8 km from downtown

Ten-Mile Ice and Snow Gallery

Ten-Mile Ice and Snow Gallery is near Datudingzi Mountain and is a natural rime landscape belt on the round-trip route between Yabuli Ski Resort and Xuexiang National Forest Park, with an elevation of approx. 1,370 m, which is several hundred meters higher than Xuexiang National Forest Park. This area is surrounded by mountains, where warm, humid air currents and cold air frequently meet. With a snow season that can last for more than half a year, water vapor cools and condenses on the branches, forming rime and snow hanging that stretches for several kilometers. The entire forest is blanketed in silver, with jade-like branches spreading along the way, almost entirely consisting of untouched, primitive forest and snowfields. Visiting here is more than just viewing from a car window: you can ride a snowmobile over the ridge and gallop through the forest and snowfields, or take a horse-drawn sled to slowly pass through the trees covered in rime. Along the way, you can also encounter wooden house courtyards in the forest areas of Weihuzhai and Gouxiongling, with plump snow mushrooms piled on the roofs.China · Dunhua
Xueyun Street

Xueyun Street

Xueyun Street is the main road of Xuexiang, the most lively street in Xuexiang, and the night scene in winter is very beautiful. There are various shops and hotels on both sides of this street, which is only 500 meters long. You can also see many restaurants and stalls on the side of the road, as well as the popular attraction Dream Home. Xueyun Street was originally a small forest railway station in the forest farm, and now it has become a commercial street in Xuexiang Township. On the night of the peak tourist season, the street is full of lanterns and tourists are crowded, just like a prosperous scene. You can buy some snacks such as frozen persimmons and frozen pears on the roadside, or you can go to farm restaurants to taste Northeastern cuisine. It is worth mentioning that there is a small hill behind the dream home (outside the park, you can pass through the alley next to Xueyun Street), which is a good place to overlook the panoramic view of the village, and is often occupied by long guns and short guns. In the evening, you can take pictures of the beautiful scenery of the village under the curling smoke.Hailin · 97.5 km from downtown

I've visited many 5A scenic spots, and this one was a great experience, mainly due to the staff. The bus ticket inspectors were very welcoming, greeting me warmly. Because it was the off-season, there weren't many people, and the driver, worried about missing my waterfall viewing, took the entire shuttle bus just for me – I was very touched. When I travel alone, I ask someone to take my picture, and if it happens, the staff will say "Welcome back next time" afterward – very thoughtful. With the recent popularity of Qing Dynasty dramas, this place recreates some scenes from Ningguta, which is quite interesting. Jingpo Lake itself is also very scenic, with a large body of water. The boat tour takes over an hour and is very comfortable!

Although many say China's Snow Town is becoming too touristy & expensive (compared to Snow Valley), I think it is still worth visiting. There are lots of ACTIVITIES to do all within walking distance. Reindeer rides, feeding, skiing, photo op including the hot water vapor video etc. One down side is that there was no signage to designated bus to/from Yabuli station (no waiting area either). It is also difficult to find restaurants for people with dietary restrictions (eg. Vegetarian, halal etc).

After exiting Hengdaohezi East Station, take a taxi for 10 yuan to the visitor center. Inside, buy a 10 yuan shuttle bus ticket. After scanning the code to enter the park, take the shuttle bus to the wild training area to see the tigers. There are about 40 tigers; do not feed them while on the bus. After getting off the bus, there is a designated area for feeding the tigers. There are also other animals you can observe and feed.

It's more fun than Jingpo Lake. The sightseeing bus ride into the mountains alone takes half an hour. There are three attractions, and it's best to allow two hours for the last one, the crater forest, otherwise it will be too rushed, and my knees will be sore from walking.

If you have time, definitely buy the package ticket on the bus—it's super fun! Some people brought several large plastic bags; you can ski and roll around on the mountain! (It's difficult without plastic bags, as they don't sell them on the mountain!)

In late September, the autumn atmosphere of Hengdaohezi Town was in full swing, its beauty reminiscent of a richly colored oil painting. A thin morning mist shrouded the forest, and sunlight filtered through the branches, scattering golden leaves across the ground like scattered gold. The air was filled with the delicate fragrance of pine resin and earth, a deep breath refreshing and refreshing. This town prospered thanks to the Chinese Eastern Railway, a century ago serving as a major railway hub. Today, the old locomotive shed, water tower, and remnants of the railway tracks stand quietly, testament to its former prosperity. Russian-style architecture dotted the landscape, with pointed wooden houses and carved window frames complementing the autumn colors, creating a sense of time travel. Stone-paved streets meandered along, punctuated by a staggered arrangement of wooden houses. Red peppers and ears of corn hanging from the eaves complemented the Russian-style carved balconies. Occasionally, a horse-drawn carriage passed by, the clatter of horse hooves echoing through the streets, blending with the distant whistle of a train, creating a unique and captivating atmosphere. Outside the town, surrounded by mountains, the forests are a vibrant tapestry. Red, yellow, orange, and green interweave into a vibrant canvas, reflected in the clear river. A gentle breeze sways light and shadows, and fallen leaves drift on the water, carrying away the lingering warmth of summer. Autumn in Hengdaohezi is not only a visual feast but also a spiritual retreat. Local residents leisurely sit in front of their homes, basking in the sun, while children chase and play in the woods. The slow and relaxing pace here makes one forget the hustle and bustle of the city. In the evening, the setting sun bathes the town in a golden glow. Standing on the bridge, the historic weight of the Middle East Railway, the exotic charm of Russian architecture, and the rich autumn atmosphere blend seamlessly, creating a unique charm that makes Hengdaohezi so unforgettable.

During summer vacation, we took the kids out to play and passed by Hengdaohezi. We rushed straight to the Tiger Park and Weihushan Film and Television City. The Tiger Park was great. We could see Siberian tigers up close and even saw Siberian tiger cubs. The little guys could even open the door, which was really fun.

It was pretty bad. It was crowded and chaotic. If the first gate didn't check tickets, why had someone stop people to check them? Then there was a second ticket check at the second place—WTF?! There were no QR codes for the tickets either. Multiple checks in the freezing cold, and still paper tickets—so primitive! See the video for how chaotic it was? And the parking lot was unmanaged. In short, the management was terrible. The old man checking tickets at the gate even had the audacity to say things like, "We've never even flown before." Honestly, Hallasan Mountain is covered in snow, like something out of Narnia, the climb is easy, and it's free—isn't that great?

It is best to avoid holidays when visiting Xuexiang, as the prices of various attractions during holidays will be higher than usual. There are many food, accommodation and transportation shops on Xueyun Street, and the prices are relatively cheaper.
