Xingkai Lake Wetland Park
Xingkai Lake Wetland Park is located on the shores of Xingkai Lake, southeast of Mishan City, Jixi, on the China-Russia border. A sand ridge stretching nearly 100 km runs across the lake, dividing it into two: the Big Xingkai Lake to the south is vast and open with rolling white waves, reminiscent of the sea; the Small Xingkai Lake to the north is quiet and understated, with reeds and marshes spreading out in patches, making it the highlight of the area. Ascend the Xinkailiu observation deck by the lake to see two distinct views of the lake at once. Walk along the wetland boardwalk toward the shore of Small Xingkai Lake, where reed beds sway in the wind, and you may sometimes encounter rare birds such as red-crowned cranes, Oriental storks, and white-tailed eagles. Located on an important migratory route for birds, large numbers of migratory birds return north every spring and gather to migrate south in the fall, often creating a spectacle of thousands of birds in flight in front of the bird-watching platform. The sand ridge is lush with trees, and the branches on both sides of the road arch to form a tree tunnel. In spring, apricot blossoms bloom along the ridge, forming a flower corridor, which is perfect for walking and taking photos. Thousands of years ago, the Sushen people fished and hunted by the lake, leaving behind the Neolithic Xinkailiu Site. The Xingkai Lake Museum details the geological changes and fishing and hunting traditions of this lake. Spring is ideal for bird watching and enjoying flowers, while summer is perfect for splashing in the waves on the soft, fine sandy beach. Tiexi Forest Park is a national 3A-level scenic area, located 58.5 km from the Mishan city center. The forest park is a mountainous ecological natural scenic area. It is named after the lush and unique ancient hazelnut trees in the mountains. The forest park covers a total area of 20 square kilometers. There are over 30 peaks over 300 m within the area, with the representative main peak at an altitude of 500 m. This forest park, covering an area of 120,000 mu, is surrounded by mountains, features babbling brooks, and boasts beautiful scenery. It is a forest park in Heilongjiang Province that was invested in and built by farmers. The lake stretches as far as the eye can see, with the setting sun and soaring wild geese. It's autumn season, when the water and sky merge into one.
