⛰️【Kumamoto・Aso】Nature’s Grandeur! The Breathtaking Kusasenrigahama🐎✨ I visited in mid-October 2026🌿 The weather was sunny, and it still felt a little warm out☀️ Kusasenrigahama is a quintessential Aso scenic spot. With its vast grasslands, the smoking Mt. Nakadake, and horses wandering peacefully, it’s where you can truly experience Aso’s majestic landscape✨ This time, I headed to the observation point located above the row of restaurants and cafes. I made my way up the stairs next to the restroom! The view from the top is a stunning 360-degree panorama😍 🌋 Mt. Nakadake, still puffing out volcanic smoke ⛰️ Hikers making their way up nearby Mt. Kishimadake 🌱 Komezuka, the beautifully green, bowl-shaped hill 🐎 Wide pastures filled with adorable horses No matter where you look, the scenery is so grand that you could stare at it forever💚 Mt. Kishimadake takes about 2 hours round-trip, and the trail is well-maintained. I heard you can even climb it in sneakers, so I really wanted to go to the peak if I had more time...😊 I couldn't make it this time, so definitely next time!♪ (The trailhead is at the far right end of the buildings.) After enjoying the view, I took a break inside the facilities☕️🍦 There’s a cafe for roasted coffee and soft-serve ice cream, plus full-service restaurants and souvenir shops✨ You can also enjoy a guided horseback ride around the grasslands🐎 The charm of this place is that there are so many ways to enjoy it besides just looking at the view♡ Wide skies, sprawling plains, and a dynamic landscape shaped by volcanoes.
